Manihi is home to many private and co-operative pearl farms. As a result, black pearls cost far less here than on neighboring isles.

WIth the exception of the pearl trade, shopping on Manihi is scarce. Visitors can find some novelty items such as handicrafts, curios and pareos in the hotels.
